Applying for Funding

When can I apply for funding?
Our College bursary system is now live for applications for session 2024/25. To receive the invitation link to apply for funding, you need to ensure you are fully enrolled on your 24/25 and that the course is fundable.
If you’re not sure if you are fully enrolled yet, check the Student Portal.

What happens after I’ve filled out the online application form?

After you’ve submitted your application, you’ll need to upload some documents to support your application. The type of documents you need to upload will depend on the answers you provided in your application. You can upload these documents directly to our secure site. They can be digital files, scans, or photos of physical documents. Just make sure they’re clear and easy to read.

Our Student Funding Team will then review your application and documents. If everything is in order, they’ll move your application forward. If something is missing, they’ll leave a note on your application. So, remember to check your application regularly.

I have studied at college/university before. Can I apply for funding again?

Absolutely. You can apply for funding for Further Education (FE – SCQF Level 1-6) courses as long as you’re progressing in SCQF Levels. There are exceptions for non-standard progression routes, re-training for employment, or due to special circumstances. However, these may require an appeal.  For Higher Education (HE – SCQF Level 7 and above) courses, eligibility for funding is subject to SAAS funding conditions. So, make sure you’ve applied for all available funding from SAAS.

Remember, this is subject to you meeting all other eligibility criteria. You can find more details in our Guide to Student Funding (2024-25 guide coming soon).
