Am I eligible for Housing Costs Funding?
You can apply for Housing Costs Funding if you’re on any full-time fundable Further Education or Higher Education course. You must be responsible for housing costs either via a tenancy or mortgage.
The Housing Costs Funding comes from the college discretionary funding. It’s a cash-limited fund, so the college can only make a contribution towards your costs. It’s assessed against your household income. Please note, it may be withdrawn or close at any time in the year if the funds run out.
If you’re in receipt of housing benefit or Universal Credit and will continue to claim this while studying, you won’t be eligible for Housing Funding from the college.
This fund is available for HE students to apply for, however, we are unable to award this fund until we receive notification of funding for 24/25 from SAAS and guidance for the 2024/25 HE Discretionary Fund. As soon as we have this we will start to work our way through the applications that we have received.
Please do not contact Student Funding for updates, you will be notified as soon as possible.
You can find out more about Housing Costs Funding on the Housing page of our website or in the Guide to Student Funding (2024-25 guide coming soon)
